[PC] Stuck in a Steam Validation/Update/Installation Loop?

When problems arise when validating, updating or installing Vermintide 2 or Darktide via Steam, we recommend running through the solutions listed below.

  • Restart your PC
  • Ensure you have enough space left on the drive you are attempting to install to
  • Investigate whether your Anti-Virus is interfering with your downloads
  • Clear Steam's 'Download Cache'. Please be aware this will cancel any downloads currently in progress!: 
    1. Open the Steam client
    2. Select 'Steam' in the upper left-hand corner
    3. Select 'Settings'
    4. Select 'Downloads' within the sidebar
    5. Select 'Clear Download Cache'
  • Repair your Steam Library Folders by:
    1. Open the Steam client
    2. Select 'Steam' in the upper left-hand corner
    3. Select 'Settings'
    4. Select 'Downloads' within the sidebar
    5. Select 'Steam Library Folders'
    6. Select the '...' icon on the right-hand side of the screen
    7. Select 'Repair Folder'
  • 'Verify Integrity of Game Files' via Steam, using the instructions here: [PC] How to 'Verify Integrity of Game Files' via Steam
  • Change Steam's 'Download Region' to another nearby location by:
    1. Open the Steam client
    2. Select 'Steam' in the upper left-hand corner
    3. Select 'Settings'
    4. Select 'Downloads' within the sidebar
    5. Change your 'Download Region' and save the changes
