Check Minimum Requirements

If your PC does not meet the minimum requirements for Vermintide 2, this can result in an unstable experience. Please ensure your PC meets the minimum requirements listed below:

• Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
• OS: 64-bit Windows 7, 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1) or 64-bit Windows 10
• Processor: Intel Core i5-2300 @ 2.80 GHz / AMD FX-4350 @ 4.2 GHz
• Memory: 6 GB RAM
• Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 5870
• DirectX: Version 11
• Network: Broadband Internet connection
• Storage: 85 GB available space

Reinstall Your GPU Drivers

Broken or outdated GPU drivers may cause Vermintide 2 to crash. When updating your drivers, please perform a clean installation which will ensure all previous versions have been removed. This is particularly important if the GPU has been changed at any point.

Disable Background Applications

Background applications - commonly overlays or hooks such as RivaTuner, ShadowPlay, Fraps, ReShade and AMD Chill - can interfere with the workings of Vermintide 2. 

A Selective Startup can help identify whether a background application is the cause of your crashes:

1. Press the Windows key
2. Type 'msconfig' and select 'System Configuration'
3. On the 'General' tab, select 'Selective Startup'
4. Deselect 'Load startup Items'
5. Reboot your PC

If the crashes no longer occur after having performed the Selective Startup, try re-introducing your programs one-by-one to determine which is causing your crashes.

Change Your DirectX Version

Some players encounter crashes when using a particular DirectX version; the reason for this is currently unknown.

Try switching your DirectX version using the 'Settings' menu within the Vermintide 2 launcher.

Disable Your Overclocks

Unstable overclocks can result in Vermintide 2 crashing or becoming unresponsive. If any of your components are overclocked, we recommend reverting the component to it's original clock.

Check for Overheating

Whilst overheating components will usually crash the entire PC, occasionally it may present as a loss of performance or crashes-to-desktop.

Lower Your Worker Threads

Your 'Worker Thread' count can be changed using the 'Settings' menu within the Vermintide 2 launcher.

If your current 'Worker Thread' count exceeds 6, please lower it to 6.

A higher-than-average 'Worker Thread' count may result in stability issues; the reason for this is currently unknown. 

This is particularly important for those with Ryzen (5 series and above) CPUs. 

Using a G-Sync Ultrawide Monitor?

We have been made aware of an issue impacting those with some NVIDIA GPUs and G-Sync Ultrawide monitors that may cause repeated GPU-related crashes both in and outside of Vermintide 2. NVIDIA have outlined the solutions below:

• Reduce your GPU's Clock Speed by 200MHz
  • This can be done using an application such as MSI Afterburner 

or

1. Right-click the desktop and select the 'NVIDIA Control Panel'
2. Select 'Help'
3. Select 'Debug Mode'
4. Then, navigate to 'Display' > 'Change Resolution' 
5. Lower your resolution
