The latest Windows 10 update - KB4515384 - has been known to interfere with players audio channel set-ups. This has resulted in problems with directional audio, meaning it's not always possible to hear what's around you in Vermintide 2.
Please adjust your Windows audio settings to utilise 2 channels (Stereo, as opposed to 5.1 or 7.1). This can be done by:
- Right-click the speaker icon in the Taskbar
- Select 'Sounds'
- Select the 'Playback' tab
- Right-click your output device and select 'Configure Speakers'
- Select 'Stereo' and proceed through the setup wizard
You may also need to change your 'Speaker Configuration' within the Vermintide 2 'Audio' menu, to reflect your set-up ('Stereo Headphones' or 'Speakers'):
Additionally, if using a headset, you may need to ensure 'Spatial sound' is enabled in Windows 10.
Another solution is to roll back the latest Windows update, until a later update is released that addresses the issue. For instructions, see 'How to uninstall a specific Windows update'.
